Thanks for checking out the blog. I'm Mitchell Kochonda, a spiritual being having a human expereince on this wonderful planet in this incredible time.

In conventional terms I'm a Physical Preparation Coach based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

What's a Physical Preparation Coach?

Someone who physically prepares the human being to excel in sport/competition or to be the best they can be physically if competition is not in the picture.

It's the training of flexibility, strength, speed, endurance, all their sub qualities (think acceleration, power, max velocity, speed endurance, hypertrophy, relative strength, etc) then add things like working with sports coaches in planning and integrating an athlete or teams technical and tactical training together during the training year and a bunch of other things related to training and sporting outcomes (recovery sessions, peaking programs, injury prevention, etc).

It's said a picture is worth a thousand words, so I've posted a handful images over the past 25 years.

I started my education and coaching journey in the mid 1990's and have worked with athletes individually, in squads and team sports at state, national and international levels in a wide variety of sports including World Cups, World Championships and the Olympics.

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come my way having built my coaching business solely via word of mouth and referrals.

It's now the 2020's and probably about time I created a digital footprint to share some of my experiences on various topics.

Over the years my interests and experiences have expanded to include health, nutrition, lifestyle, investing and the like, with the focus on service to many and living a great life!

This was the course to work in gyms in Queensland the mid 1990's.
It's here I first heard 'athletes don't need more protein' and 'you only need to do one set to failure in the gym' and other interesting paradigms of the time.

This was a great couple of years. Lots of solid education and practical experiences training/coaching. Plus it got me into uni, at a time when admission into university was a challenge. Unlike today...

The formal education at university was helpful. The informal education I got coaching uni athletes and running the uni gym was more helpful.

Field games can be adjusted to emphasise skills, agility, acceleration, team work, etc. The greatest advantage is the players enjoying them and the transfer to playing the game.

We worked together 20 years ago with great success and linked up again in 2021. I'm grateful for great relationships with great sports coaches.

Dad still ripping kit surfing in his mid 70's! I've physically prepared him for over 25 years. We still talk training every week because he's focused on improving. Legend.
